Stretch and awakening your body and mind in the well rounded class that begins gentle and moves through a varied set of poses from seated and lying down, to table, standing warrior sequences and balancing postures. The use of props are offered to allow individuals to find their level of practice. You build strength, flexibility and vitality for optimal physical and emotional health. Class ends with a time of relaxation and the playing of the singing bowls to allow the body and mind to assimilate all the benefits.
Chakra Energy Yoga
The focus of this class is on awakening and balancing the energy centers of your body (chakras) through a varied set of poses, exercises, breath work, and intentions. Each week will be working with and balancing a specific area of your personal energy, starting from the ground up and moving through a 7 week cycle before starting over. In this style of practice you develop a deeper awareness of where and how your mental, emotional and physical energy gets stagnant, and the ability to clear it. You will build strength, flexibility and vitality for optimal physical and emotional health.
Attending 7 weeks in a row would be ideal but not necessary. Come when you can and reap the benefits.
Appropriate for beginner’s and experienced yoga practitioners.
Gentle Mindful Yoga
This class combines gentle yoga poses and mindfulness practices to develop mind/body awareness and reduce stress. “Perfect for beginners or those who prefer a slower paced practice. Start your week off Mindful not Mind Full!”
No yoga experience necessary to join; modifications and props provided.
We will move mindfully through foundational Hatha poses and sequences while building strength and balance on the mat. Enjoy slowing down, flowing mindfully and breathing deeply. Open to all levels. Class ends with a time of relaxation to allow the benefits to sink in.
Healthy Spine Yoga
A gentle class designed to create strength and flexibility in the back, hips and core, as well as the cervical spine (neck) and shoulders.
Learn safe and mindful ways to stretch, release deeply held tension and reduce the level of stress placed on the back in everyday life.
Use of props and modifications are encouraged to allow each to find their own pose.
*Appropriate for all levels.
Increase your strength and flexibility, physically and mentally, while releasing stress and creating a better sense of focus. Class is designed for men, as is taught by male instructor.
Yin Yoga for Energy & Flexibility
Yin Yoga is a restorative practice of using body weight, gravity and props in poses to lengthen the fascia (connective tissue), ligaments and tendons. Poses are all done on the floor and are held for 2-5 minutes, relinquishing tension and giving time to cultivate the ability to surrender and receive.
This technique can access deep patterns of restriction in the body, opening and enhancing the flow of energy and vitality. Practicing once a week can deeply enhance flexibility in your regular yoga practice. Class ends with an extended time of relaxation while being soothed by the playing of the singing bowls.
Stress and tension melt away as you are guided into very gentle poses supported by props, allowing the body to open and release unconsciously held tension. Reduces pain and stiffness, and calms the nervous system, relieving anxiety. Perfect for those with inflamatory conditions, limited mobility or wanting to relax, both mentally and physically.
Qi-Ga (Qigong-Yoga) Class
A special combo-class consisting of gentle yoga, qigong, native american flute & drum, inspirational readings and guided meditation. The class is wrapped in a theme honoring the season and is renewing to the Spirit as well as body. This class is offered on holidays such as Thanksgiving, New Years Day and other significant times and seasons throughout the year.
